Legacy #7593 Extended Automatic Door Bottom, Heavy Duty, Neoprene Bulb, 1.5" Drop

Legacy #7593 Extended Automatic Door bottom is fitted with a Heavy Duty mechanism and rubber gasket that can seal gaps up to 1.5". This model is surface mounted and features a a unique sloped top casing. Available in a selection of finishes and is custom cut to size.

Developed in response to specific user requirements, our new extended drop automatic door bottom solves two common problems. Its integrated design features a unique sloped top casing designed to slough off rainwater and prevent pooling on top of the ADB housing in exterior applications. It simplifies installation by eliminating the need for adding a separate rain drip part to the door bottom.

Providing up to a 1.5 inch drop, deeper than typical ADBs, this unit is also designed to help compensate for drop differentials found in door installations with large gradients or slope conditions on one side of the door. The deep drop can also be useful for exterior installations where floor surfaces may be degraded by weather exposure. The deeper drop allows smooth door function in spite of these conditions, which can otherwise cause door bottoms to drag and stick.

Seal Types: This automatic door bottom is fitted with a Heavy Duty Neoprene Bulb Seal which is ideal for most commercial and residential applications. The compression of the bulb is particularly good on floor surfaces that have slight variances, such as carpet and concrete.

Also available in High Sound Double Neoprene (#7793) and Sponge Neoprene (#7093).

Flawed Design and Lacks Instructions

The design of the plates that cap off each end of the automatic door bottom only have 1 screw to secure at 1 corner. When the door bottom goes down, it also travels laterally forcing the plate out and blocking the door from closing. All 3 I purchased had the same issue. I ended up having to cut them shorter that I'd like and leave the end plates off completely. Doesn't look very nice, as I'm sure you can imagine. Very little is included in the way of instructions, I even went to the manufacturers website and called them.
